More international students are coming than ever before! The need is rising!
Often the best way to reach international students is while they are young and in school, whereas later its harder as they become more established. The one international student who stayed in our home is one of at least 20000 Saudi students studying in North America this year! The GTA is the epicentre where more focus is needed. And in the past year, the government has implemented a plan to make it easier for an international student to stay in Canada after they graduate.
So we feel that there is much we can do here. And so little done among Muslim students! We also meet students from Korea , Japan , China , Turkey , and Afghanistan .
We still need 40% of our monthly support requirement to reach full support.
Our mission has asked us to please reach full support. Then we are enabled to be totally free to minister without the hindrance of earning supplemental income. Therefore, we are embarking on an aggressive year of fundraising. Our goal is to have 10 fundraisers hosted by friends, 1 fundraising concert, and looking for more creative ideas for raising funds.
Please consider contributing to this work with a monthly donation of $30.00 or more so that this work of befriending international students and putting Scriptures into their hands will continue strong.
Please pray for wisdom and strength as we minister.
Did you know ?
We meet regularly with a team of 5 other ISMC staff persons in Toronto who pray for us and the students.
Tim learned conversational Arabic from spending a year in North Africa .
Yes, you can join him for Bible discussion with students from a Muslim background.
Many Muslim background seekers are in danger if they are found reading a Bible, even in Canada !
It's part of ISMC staff ministry to visit students in their home countries!
We raise our own salary funds and ministry funds. We depend upon the LORD and the church body for support and encouragement.

Dear Friends, Near and Far
Greetings and Salutations to each one of you in the precious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ Whose Birth we celebrate during this Season. We are indeed very thankful for His mercy and grace manifested so profoundly by His Incarnation, Life, Death, Resurrection, and the Promise of His victorious Return. Therefore, let us rejoice, give praise, and look forward to meet Him with all the saints. Do you have this FAITH, LOVE, HOPE in Christ? Meanwhile, let us keep occupied, laboring in His vineyard with diligence, redeeming the time till He Comes.
By His enabling Grace, on Nov. 15th, I turned to 73 years ‘young’ and still continue ministering, though in a limited way, to internationals locally in person and globally via the internet. Our Saturday morning’s Golden Tutors program has been in operation helping students to practice English conversation and learn the Bible. This Fall Term we registered 15 students, somewhat fewer than previous Terms. The closing day of this Term will be December 11th with ISMC/Toronto Christmas Celebration in the evening, including turkey dinner, testimonies, Christmas Carols, and Gospel message. There will be five weeks break until the start of the Winter-Spring Term on January 15th, Lord willing. The recent picture below gives you a glimpse for praise and prayer. Thank you.
On the other hand, I have been also involved in personal counseling, hospitality, and mentoring of few learners. More hours are spent on the computer networking and connecting with friends and students in the area and around the world. Some friends here helped me to get on the Face-book and the Skype. These are interesting ways to connect with friends near and far. Please try to visit me on the Face-book and call via Skype.
There we can talk and even see each other live on video camera and pray. Due to some symptoms in aging and sleep problem, I am having more precious time in the study of the Word, intercessory prayer, and reading of some great books. In addition, I have been doing morning physical exercises in our gym to stay fit and have more energy. However, because of some health concerns I have not traveled outside Toronto this year and hence, missed several conferences and the warmth of Florida in winter. Then, I am also trying to minister to few internationals through some limited hospitality, when possible. All my waking hours are dedicated to HIS service. If you wish to know more details, do contact me via the address below or visit our local website: www.ismc.ca/toronto.
Thank you for your continued interest, concern, prayers, and encouraging support. I thank God for the few faithful supporters that still keep on partnering in my ministry with gifts and prayers. At present, I do not feel like retiring fully but still have the desire to be useful, productive, helpful, and fruitful for His Kingdom. Thank you again for praying and keeping in touch. May you be blessed with the Joy of the Lord during this Christmas and beyond, till HE COME.
MARANATHA.
With love in Christ, Joseph Sabounji
